We had talked about replacing the ceilings because they are textured, however after finding blown insulation in the attic, and seeing the horrific mess that was created just trying to wire for our new fan switch and such, I told Brian he was going to have a VERY hard time convincing me that it NEEDED to be done! (Honestly, by that point he was pretty well convinced that it was more work then we needed to do.)
This was only the beginning of the mess...
One night Brian headed to the room and the next thing I know it was well past bed time and we had the closet framed out for the new doors. (The old doors were metal, floor to ceiling, and just UGLY!)

Next thing I know we were finding places to put the things in our closet so we could start spackling and. Brian decided that Ray Charles could have done a better job spackling then whom ever had spackled in our room before - he would have at least been able to feel it wasn't smooth. We seriously believe they didn't know what sandpaper is, or that its necessary after spackling. He ended up having to float out most of the walls, and after two coats of primer and a coat of paint, we've just accepted that the walls in our room aren't going to be perfect unless we resheetrock (please see above paragraph about horrific mess for ceilings).
Here we are, not even a month living here and our room is complete! Not bad! Next is Emma's room, but we decided we needed a bit of a break as did our credit card, and when the people at Lowe's and Home Depot recognize your 2 year old it might be time for a break and not go there every day!
